FAQ

How do you know when it is time to come in for a check-up?

This is an important question. A lot of people feel that if they don’t experience any problems or have any pain then they don’t need to come in for their check-up and cleaning. But we recommend that patients come in twice a year even if they are in good oral health. If you need more frequent visits we will let you know, example would be if you have periodontal disease. Checkups are important because, even in you don’t notice any pain or problems with your teeth, we may find signs of potential problems. For instance, demineralization can precede decay, oral cancer often goes undetected until it’s too late, and gum disease is a silent invader. At your hygiene appointment, we clean the plaque, tartar, and hardened food particles from your teeth, make sure your gums are healthy and strong, and thoroughly check for decay.

My smile is missing teeth. What do you suggest?

You will need to first schedule an appointment or consultation with Dr. Bunner. We have different options to fit your needs and to provide you with more most suitable restoration based on your oral condition. Different options like bridgework, implants or removable appliances will be discussed and offered based on your particular case.

I have old, dark fillings. Is there any hope for my smile?

Yes! Dr. Bunner has actually not used the mercury fillings for over 12 years! These old mercury fillings can be replaced with bio-compatible materials such as a composite resin or porcelain ceramic to ensure a pleasing look.

What does “painless dentistry” mean?

It means that we will ensure that your dental experience at our office is as pain-free and stress-free as possible. We have multiple options to relax you during your visit with us including nitrous oxide (laughing gas), local anesthetic by use of the Wand for painless injections, or conscious sedation.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Please call our office as soon as possible so we can help determine if you have a dental emergency and to get an appointment scheduled for you. We will be glad to work you into our schedule if you have a dental emergency during our regular business hours. After hours, over the weekend and during holidays, please call our office to obtain Dr. Bunner’s emergency contact number.

Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?

YES! We accept all traditional plans for dental insurance and will be happy to process your claim for you upon receipt of your estimated portion. We offer “No-Interest” financing through Care Credit for up to 12 months or for a low interest rate, up to 5 years, all of which allows you to make convenient monthly payments.
